Zug, May 26, 2020 – At its last meeting, the Board of Trustees of the Tezos Foundation set the course for important personnel changes and specified the adjustments to governance announced in March. The Board of Trustees will withdraw from day-to-day business and transfer the management of the foundation to a separate team.

The incumbent president of the Tezos Foundation, Ryan Jesperson, will not stand for re-election. Hubertus Thonhauser, a member of the Board of Trustees since April 2018, will be its new Chairman. At the same time, he remains an ad interim member of the Executive Committee until the election of the Executive Director has been completed. Alexis Bonte, Marylène Micheloud and Lars Haussmann continue to serve as members of the Board of Trustees. Ryan Lackey and Michel Mauny are stepping down in this function, but will continue to be involved in the Tezos project.

New boards of trustees from the insurance and risk capital sector

The Foundation Board has elected two new members. Alice Lloyd George, founder of the early stage venture fund Rogue Capital, has been investing in new technologies such as gaming, blockchain, robotics and augmented reality since 2013. The Briton previously worked for Bridgewater Associates, the Bookings Institute in Beijing and Washington and as a reporter for the Wall Street Journal in Hong Kong.

Olivier Jaillon is CEO of La Parisienne Assurances, a leading French insurance company. He complements the Board of Trustees with decades of experience in the financial and insurance industries, particularly in transforming traditional industries with new technological solutions.

Consistency in the Executive Team

Roman Schnider will continue to serve on the Executive Committee as Chief Financial Officer and Head of Operations, and Ulrich Sauter as General Counsel of the Foundation. David Fuchs joins the Tezos Foundation as a senior team member and as Head of Corporate Adoption EMEA. He has extensive experience in the financial industry and was most recently Senior Business Manager for Digitization at the Swiss bank Vontobel. Prior to that, David Fuchs worked for the SIX Swiss Exchange, Credit Suisse and as a consultant for various financial services companies.
